The state of Victoria has very little ‘outback’ but very much ‘country’. I drove some country at the weekend. Dingee is 200Km north of Melbourne.

During a study break, I ate my lunch on the waterfront where the light was crisp and blue, so took this shot of Cunningham Pier. After lunch it was a three hour session in the studio so was glad of the fresh air.

I started taking photographs with some interest after the development of digital cameras, so never really had the desire to explore film. Last trimester at University I had a unit on film and not surprisingly it wasn’t my favourite, but added to my respect for those that are keeping the medium alive. This door leads to the lift down to the basement darkroom at Uni. I really liked the play on the lift sign with the reflection of the stairs opposite.

Deakin University waterfront campus is built around the shell of a 19th century wool store. The glass, brick, metal and wood are a riot of angles and reflections. This image represents my juggling of 4 new units this trimester.
