I approached Mount Napier with very little information and few previously seen images, so the morning hike up to the summit through the forest and the fascinating volcanic structure once there, were something of a pleasant surprise for me.

Did I cheat on one of my first peaks? This looked like the highest point on Hanging Rock, and these two guys were having a full on conversation up there, so I gave up waiting to reach this point. Maybe I need to start bringing my GPS with me to gauge the altitude and compare it to the registered height of the peaks.
Not sure about the footwear though!
