Sailing Memories

This shot of Hobart harbour with the fabulous sailing vessel in the foreground is a timely reminder of this time 19 years ago, on a 3 masted schooner crewing from The Azores to the UK. A fabulous trip and I met my wife into the bargain.

The Pelican

This is where we leave Seventeen Seventy and head south. I must say it didn’t disappoint, the scenery, the history, it all lived up to my expectations.

Where to tomorrow? Another icon in the geography of Australia.

There are very few places on the eastern coast of mainland Australia where you can watch the sun set behind land, across open water.

Seventeen Seventy in Queensland is one of these places, lucky for me it was a great sunset the night I dragged the tripod down the beach.
