The island is only 50 Hectares in area. A well placed path hugs the coastline to take in views around the perimeter.

The island remains a farm to this day, with restored farmhouse and outbuildings.

Churchill Island is the site of the first cultivated crop of wheat by Europeans in Victoria, 1801.

Churchill Island lies off Phillip Island, which in turn lies in Western Port in Victoria, Australia, both are reached by road bridge. It was first surveyed by arriving Europeans in 1801. The Boonwurrong people may have visited Churchill Island for thousands of years before Europeans arrived.
