There is little concrete knowledge of the Shakespeare Hotel in Melbourne. I dug into an article on Trove which gives an account of John Pascoe Faulkner owning the establishment on the corner of Collins Street and Market Street in the city in the 1840s and it being popular with buses who plied their trade to St.Kilda & Brighton.
The advert in my picture is on a building in Exhibition Street.
