Not an insubstantial ship, the SS Maheno was 5000 tonnes, she could carry up to 420 passengers and was 400 feet long when built in 1905.
Today, bearly 100 feet of the hull remains visible above the ground. Nature is reclaiming its own, swallowing it piece by piece with every tide, converting metal to rust for it to crumble and mingle with the sand.
A shadow of its former self.
