Cold Capital

Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.

I have spent a long weekend in Canberra, the Australian Capital. While my wife attends a literacy conference (if you are into teaching, you can read her blog here), I was out and about with the camera.

It just happened to be the coldest week in Canberra in 20 years, apparently, with overnight temperatures down to -6 and in the mornings, I woke to heavy frost, fog and frozen windscreen.

I think this image conveys the cold, it is on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in the heart of Canberra.
